PM Imran Khan inaugurates the Peshawar BRT Project flagship on Thursday. Addressing media, PM Imran Khan congratulated Parvez Khatak and KPK Government for their untiring efforts on the project completion of this modern and high-level project. He further said, “This BRT Project has a big impact on Peshawar City as this connects GT road to Hayatabad and everyone knows that it was the main artery facing traffic issues earlier.”
He further added, “Another important thing that people might not understand is that it’s a 27 KM main artery, but there is a 60 KM feeder routes linked to BRT that connect all areas of Peshawar. It will not be unjustified to say that for Peshawar it is a modern transport system that connects Peshawar and other underlying areas.”
He also applauded the minimum fare of travel. This is what makes the difference as this is of utmost importance to keep in mind how poor and a common man will benefit from this project. The fare falls between Rs. 10/- to Rs. 50/- and will get poor a chance to go too far areas to look for jobs if they don’t find one in their own areas. Further, it is also beneficial for school-going and college-going students to economically utilize transport.
He was very hopeful that this project is not only a 27 KM project but it has emerged as very good economic prospects and will bring prosperity. The people of Peshawar will have a safe, comfortable, and affordable journey in luxury bases on daily basis. The types of buses that are being used, are environmentally friendly. These hybrid buses will also help reducing pollution.
